Dan Hayhurst is a British musician, visual artist, and filmmaker based in London. He is best known for his work as one half of the electronic music duo Sculpture, which he formed with Reuben Sutherland in 2008. They have released several albums and EPs and have performed extensively across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
Apart from his music work, Hayhurst is also known for his visual art and film projects, which often involves experimental techniques and explores the boundaries between analogue and digital media. He has exhibited his work in various galleries and festivals, including The Barbican, Institute of Contemporary Arts, and Rotterdam International Film Festival.
Hayhurst's creative process often involves collecting and manipulating found materials, such as old records, vintage toys, and obsolete technology, and recontextualizing them into new forms of audio-visual expression. His work has been described as an homage to the DIY spirit of the 70s and 80s underground art scenes, as well as a reflection on the rapid evolution of technology and its impact on human culture.
